So I go to the labor office, and pick up the letter that was there, in it they state that i have to submit some stuff that was already submitted in my application package, and also some stuff thats impossible to submit, in two weeks time. like a bank statement from a bank here in Belize... but you cant get one until you have a work permit, and also a company started... hmmm... The guy in the labor office was also like WTF?! and told me to write a letter back stating that this is there already and this is impossible and blah blah blah, oh and i have to draw up a formal business plan... dude i met Nigerians that do construction competing with the labor force here for jobs that came into this country with nothing worked illegally to make it to the work permit and now are working toward their citizenship in the ghetto in Belize city... and i am sure they didnt have to submit a business plan to get a work permit... the guy was also like wow, its not like they make everyone do this. the artist that rode along with me today was enraged as i was shocked especially at the fact that it is clear they didnt even go through my application package very well since they asked for major things that were present in their hands... im not going into detail but some of my artist friends here are going to circulate a petition through the artist community, and get people to sign it for me... that want to work with me, and the fact that doing this sounds like viable option, is sad... but it was his idea, so im talked into it. some other artists we saw today also wanted to do it. The guy wants to go to dandriga, and placencia, plus hit this area of all his contacts, and then my other friend in dandriga that used to be in Belize city said he could have someone in Belize city go talk to all the artists they know there, and i am like really feeling the love here and overwhelmed with happiness that the artists here are so welcoming so far, and i cant wait to work with some of these guys, they are truly beautiful beings. but the fact that this even sounds like it may be needed to get a work permit befuddles me. luckily i already drew up a skeleton business plan for the company i want to start there, so tonight i have to flesh it out, and do a video etc but i am beat already... this week has been full... but you know what... anything worth having isnt worth having if you dont have to work for it.
