So I got a passport recently. And Im looking at different countries to travel to. Upon further investigation I discovered that my RESISTANCE to traveling has to do with, well, a phobia of large insects, namely spiders. So Im experimenting with desensitization...starting with this vid below. #ack lol After watching the vid in a state of near paralysis, I subscribed to this dudes YouTube channel (tarantulaguy1976) to see if I can begin desensitizing myself from a fear of spiders. Oddly, I found myself watching several of his videos, including one where he mourns the death of one of his pet spiders. I think by observing someone being kind/compassionate towards large spiders, it will lessen my fear around them. Its also dissolving this belief: I CANT MAKE $X NUMBER OF DOLLARS --> BECAUSE IF I DO, THEN I CAN FREELY TRAVEL --> AND IF I TRAVEL, THEN I MIGHT ENCOUNTER A LARGE SPIDER --> AND FREAK OUT.
