So, I had to sit in a courtroom for four hours today waiting on the guy to decide he was going to plead guilty, as if there was any doubt of the outcome. Anyway, if you ever need to see there is a major problem with illegal immigration, go hang out in the courtroom. I actually witnessed a defense attorney obtain a plea deal with the prosecutor for a drunk driver. The deal was for 48 hours in jail and the normal 11 and 29 suspended. However, 6 of the 48 hours were waived for time served and it would not start until Friday night, after the Immigration Services were closed and he would get out late Saturday night. Again, after the Immigration Services were closed so the guy would not be deported. Are you serious? The poor interpreter was ran ragged between two different courtrooms trying to keep up with everything. Immigration reform, yeah, how about just enforcing the laws we have instead of making deals to keep criminals from being deported.
