So I had to stay late at work and I was explaining to one of my female coworker how I was going to be in trouble because I was leaving late. She said why are you going to be in trouble you were working. Yeah but my wife works too, I said. You make the bulk of the income in your household, she said. So I said, we are equals and my wifes job is just as important as mines. As she looked at me with the dumb look on her face I walked away. Ke Ann C Matthews raises 4 children, homes schools 3 of the 4, is running an online business, is studying for her Personal Trainer certification, keeps the house in order, and God knows the other millions of things she does through out the day...yeah her job is very much as important as mines if not more. So for any one who thinks that being a stay at home mom is easy and a cope out..think again and shame on you for thinking so. It takes a lot to be a stay at home mother (or father). You give up your hopes and dreams, be it temporary, so that you can take care of your family. There are very few days off; your social life my consist of Facebook, text messages, the occasional conversation at the grocery store, and lets not forget your intellectual talks with your small children. There is a great deal of denying of self involved and not everyone can do it. Not to say that women who work out side the home dont experience the same things, but there is something to be said about a women who chooses to stay at home and raise her family. So my hat goes off to you Princess and to all the moms and dads out there who are the stay-at-homers. You deserve a big fat raise!!!!!!
