So I have a rant that Ive done in a much harsher/hardcore fashion than I would ever post on here. I read in the September issue of the Army Times a newsletter written by a female soldier on how unfair the ht/wt standards are. She then went on to describe her methods for passing tape and how they affected her on the APFT. Let me just say this. If youre methods are anything like hers, which included starving herself, dehydrating herself, and taking loads of unhealthy diet pills, then its you who are being unfair to yourself, not the damn standards. Maybe, just maybe, instead of going from eating at Popeyes everyday to not eating at all, like for instance I dont know, maybe eating something that you know is more healthy for you than that large pizza you always have to have or whatever it is you lack the discipline to withdraw from. Stop going from one extreme to another and expecting it to work because it wont. Both are equally as atrocious as you can get to maintaining a healthy bodyfat content. All the misinformation, the wanting something NOW instead of earning it, and unwillingness to accept the truth has all these whiners and complainers in outcries against the standards that are far easier to maintain than those from the past. My grandfather had far more strict standards in the 60s. Why? America wasnt as fat and lazy as it is now. They couldnt pick up a double whopper with cheese as easily. Coincidentally, the APFT was far more difficult to pass then, too. So instead of complaining and doing the same thing over and over again while reaping exactly what you have sown, try something else instead. Most people know how to eat healthy but lack the discipline to do it. That is a YOU problem, not the Armys. Fix you by using common sense, which should be referred to as rare sense now obviously. Do a little sweating and get out of your comfort zone during your workouts. Then clean your diet up, leave the damn pills alone, and drink plenty of water. If you need diet and nutrition tips, message me. Its too easy to explain. Stop trying to fix in five seconds the damage you have done over years. Thats just insane, and you are insane when you continue to try it the same way while achieving the exact same outcome. Stop blaming the Army and everyone else on being unfair. Go look in the mirror and choke that person out because theyre the ones causing you all of your grief. Get mad at you. The standards will become easier to maintain when you quit doing what all the other obese people are doing. Okay, Im done.
