So, I have an on going argument as to wether a mini excavator (4 ton) with a thumb or a skid steer is a more effective tree machine. (Leaving mini skidsteers out of this). Having plenty of experience in both you can see where I lean lol. Excavator you can feed the chipper very well with, move logs with less impact on lawn collect and gather brush, push trees over with more securely and safely more secure on slopes but requires a skilled operator. Skidsteer you can lift similar sized logs, can kinda feed chipper, rips the crap out of lawn more so depending on tracks, faster, super basic, many limitations but lower op cost... Anyone can jump in and run one. What do you guys think?
