So I have been thinking since the morning about which is my favourite Manna De song. If I was a purist I would have said laga chunri main daag chupaoon kaise. If I was the kind who went on the popularity of the song, I would have said mud mud ke na dekh mud ke. If I was the kind who looked at the longevity of a singer, I would have said, hamara hi muthi main aakash saara, a song that Manna De sang for Nana Patekars brilliant Prahar in the 1990s. But my favourite Manna De song happens to be Aao Twist Karen. This to me the best rock n roll song in Hindi. And Manna De was probably the most unlikely guy to have sung it. I mean Rock n Roll and Manna De, who would have expected that? Manna De, rest in peace!
