So, I have just found & finished reading 99+ messages from last January when Iris went missing! It is not possible for me to respond back to all of them but this is one that I felt touched by and responded. Conversation started January 16 1/16, 6:45pm Larisa Oldmixon-Berson Hi Gay. You dont know me but I saw your post about Iris missing through a friend of a friend. My friend is Rebecca Gordon and I am not sure who she and you are friends with. Anyway I wanted to tell you that 2 days ago when we saw your post we (my children and I) were so concerned. Our dogs run away often and we know the feeling of worrying where the heck they went off to. I homeschool my children and yesterday my 4 year old daughter and my 6 year old son asked if we could go look for Iris. We live in Branford by the way. So my daughter packed a little zip lock of Cheerios in hopes of luring Iris to our car and bringing her home. We drove all around Killingworth and Madison side streets for 2 hours yesterday and an hour today. My kids would ask to go to your facebook page to look for updates or sightings. It was just the sweetest thing to see them care so much for someone and their dog in which they have never met. The reason I am emailing is to tell you 1) we are so thrilled Iris is back 2) you and Iris have taught my children true empathy. We helped people on Long Island by filling our car up and delivering clothes and food for those that lost everything from hurricane Sandy and we made snow flakes for Newtown, but this is the first time they have taken the initiative. I just wanted to thank you. Life lessons come in different ways, museums, zoos, library, various classes, but this time it came from Iris. Now go cuddle those sweet dogs!
