So I have yet to see anyone suggest this idea so I am going to float a trial balloon. I think it is time to acknowledge that the House of Representatives is an obsolete institution that costs us over $75 million dollars annually (and that is just the base salary for the House members themselves, it does not factor in any other salaries for staff or other costs) and at this point is about to destroy this nation as a secure investment (if they havent already). We need a Constitutional amendment eliminating the House of Representatives. We take the few unique attributes that the HoR has and place them on the Senate. No more worrying about gerrymandering; no more idiot extremists able to get elected easily and upset the apple cart. Of course, its too late. Even if we pass a funding and debt ceiling bill weve blown it, in full display of the world. And who knows.. maybe that was their plan all along. Make it so no one will LEND the US money by buying Treasury Bills. It truly is time for a revolution, but not the one the Tea Party wants.
