So I hear a local Philly Wawa dropped 60% in cigarette sales since the new tax went into effect. While a wawa store just outside Philly is struggling to keep cigarettes in stock. Lines to the back of the store and people buying 5 packs or cartons at a time. I guess nobody in city government thought that would happen eh? Will the city actually raise as much money for the schools as they thought through this tax?
