So I just got a call from the Australian Tax Office with them basically saying I need to verify my workings as a business or theyll cancel my ABN. They asked for proof earlier in the year and I handed over a few receipts and invoices (begrudgingly) and then they called again saying that it wasnt enough and that if I cant send them more theyll cancel it. So now I have to run around and get together information from my new job within a day or two (complicated by a confidentiality agreement) to show Im working as a sole trader and basically waste a bunch of time on a group is rather not have to deal with. What the hell you bunch of pen pushing morons why cant you just let me work in peace? Is it SO hard to keep one little number in your massive servers that you need to make sure Im working to keep it? I thought you were trying to get people to work, not make them quit!!! I work and pay tax through that, is that not enough?? What more do you want from us?! I told the yuppie if it comes to that Ill end up working illegally because these fools are making it hard for people to make a living. I hope I ruined his day cause hes ruined mine.
