So I just read on the KREM.COM website that in the first week, the state of Washington had 9,452 people sign up under the health exchanges with the Affordable Care Act. Had to check the population again after that showing... In 2012, the population was 6,897,012..... Meaning that in the first week, a whopping .0013% of the population ran to get a Federally forced health insurance program. HHS say it expects to spend $4.4 billion on exchange grants to the states by the end of this year — double its estimates a year ago. The HHS is also asking Congress for another $1.5 billion to set up a federal exchange in 26 states. The department has cobbled together money from other programs to get started, but officials said they need another $800 million for operational costs and $550 million for outreach and education. I am thinking nobody wants to do the math on how much this "Cheap Healthcare Insurance" is going to cost the taxpayer.
