So, I learned a lesson today: always smile at others. I walked into Govinda’s Garden (good vegetarian/vegan place, btw) and casually smiled at a man who was sitting across his friend. I happened to order the same thing he ordered, and he was telling me how good it was. He asked me if I was from Miami, and after telling him yes, he told me he and his friend had just arrived from Canada. The three of us then had a great conversation about Canada, vegetarianism, college, and places to visit in Miami, and exchanged emails. He was so happy about my friendliness that he even paid for my meal! I helped them get back home right after; and as I told them I was so glad for meeting them, I realized how beautiful it can be connecting with strangers and helping them on their journey. Hopefully, I see them again. Even if I don’t, I know Ive made two friends.
