So I literally had the weirdest birthday ever... Nothing was in alignment... And everything that could go wrong... did... 27... You live and you learn. 1. I fall in love with all the wrong people, any ideas how to fix that? No? Thought so. Its ok, glad to see no one else has a clue either! :) Luckily I am still young enough to be able to make that mistake! 2. I am not yet where I want to be business-wise. Fortunately there are a ton of books in my library on this subject... So we will fix that soon. Moving in the right direction faster than ever before, never lose focus. 3. I lack real tangible relationships with people I care about... and that care about me. We all know a ton of people... thousands of Facebook Friends, Followers, Fans, whatever you want to call them. Yet of all of the people I know, I can count on my hand the people that would be there for me in a crisis. You know who you are, and I love you for being real. If I chose to spend time with you... a resource which is already in short supply... it is because I want you in my life, not to add another chip to my bean counter, respect it... honesty is worth more than gold. 4. I locked myself out of my place... lost my keys because I was too drunk and emotionally worked up about someone I deeply care about. So yeah... making a spare set for the car... should have done that ages ago. Re-reading Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. A man should always be in control of his emotions, never the other way around. 5. Learning to appreciate the pain that sometimes comes with caring about people... I will always care, and I will never apologize for caring, deal with it. Set me on fire, it doesnt bother me a bit. For 99% of you I will wear my mask, because you cant handle the truth. For the others... I will show you my genuine side. You will know my weaknesses and my strengths because I chose to show them to you. Doing that implies trust, and it is your choice on how you want to play those cards... just remember that then I will probably know yours as well. 5. Gratitude. I am part of an amazing team. The environment I work in is inspiring. The sky is the limit. Of the few real friends I have, each one is priceless to me. Again, I love you guys. I pay my own rent, my car is paid off... what a blessing that is in its own right! I have amazing clients that challenge me to work harder, and smarter every day. Today, I am grateful! 6. Merciless. I am too nice, and it hasnt gotten me the results I want. So now it is time for a new strategy. If you chose to waste my time; I will cut you out of my life. No apologies. Take a minute and think about what you are bringing to the conversation before you sit down with me. Yes its my Leo ego talking, say hello, hopefully you have an appointment. 7. Moving Forward. There is a woman who is very dear to my heart... But she is still too young to appreciate it... So for now, moving forward on other things... Never force something that should come naturally. Dont entertain depression or self-pity, ever. Work harder, move faster, accomplish goals. Whatever the sphere of influence; its time to crush it. No one else is going to plug you in. You have to plug yourself in. Remain honest, faithful, strong, resilient, charismatic, confident, fun. Appreciate the people in your life... that moment you are together only exists once... treasure it. Push yourself. When knocked down... Pull yourself up. Brush yourself off. And... Keep... Moving... Forward...
