So I love to write, and usually I never post anything I write, but I felt compelled to post this poem that came to mind an hour or so ago. Its pretty lengthy, I apologize. I try to speak, but not a whisper escapes my lips I try to listen, but can hear no sounds The pain has taken over like a lunar eclipse A menacing black cloud has devoured the sky Humid rain seems to suffocate me yet, I stand by Looking around for help, maybe someone can hear my cry But all I see is, to each their own, lunar eclipse I see to each their own, devoured sky I see to each their own, painful cry I see the torment, the suffering, the isolating I see a world, being taken over by hate not love The hurt continuously circulating Where “I hate you” is more common than “I love you” And “You’re stupid” more common than “You’re beautiful” We use, abuse and destroy everything made to be pure I don’t know where it all started Where wrong became right, and we lost all of our sight Lost what was important and true To put it bluntly if there was cracks, we surely fell through How did courage get replaced with something so askew When there’s such a priceless healing The power of love is so underestimated And can diminish any hate you or I am feeling So why let black devour the skies, and also our lives Why let the pain be unceasing Disperse the love, and watch as it thrives.
