So, I love travelling. I like driving, but mostly I like flying. But there are a few things about flying that I do NOT like. I will now list a few of them for you. Things I dont like about flying (in no particular order): 1 - Middle Seats. They should do away with them, and make every seat either a window or an aisle. Seems pretty simple to me. 2 - Prop Planes. Shouldnt we all be jet-propelled by now? 3 - 6AM Flights. I am not a morning person. And when you have to get to the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight, were rewinding PAST morning and encroaching on middle of the night 4 - Checking luggage. On my AutoTrader team, we actually ridicule anyone who has to check a bag. If youre good, you can put everything you need in a carry-on. 5 - Tiny drink cups. American has larger cups, but Delta and Southwest use those tiny cups. When you add ice, there is very little beverage volume. And they dont like giving you refills. 6 - Sitting on the tarmac. Its my information that pilots and flight crews dont get paid if they delay while at the gate, so they pull away to get paid. Im not sure what exactly I hate about that, but I definitely am less comfy sitting on the runway vs. sitting at the gate. 7 - Turning off your electronics. Dont get me started. And I know the regulations have finally been changed, but so far only Delta has adopted it, and only on their big planes. 8 - First Time Flyers. There should be some sort of training, or at least some sort of test that newbies should have to pass before entering an airport. They cramp everyones style when they dont understand the security process, and they make me have to get to the airport much earlier than neccessary to allow for their delays (see #3 above). 9 - Tiny lavatory. They have reduced the size of the restroom to the absolute minimum. I dont think I could tie my shoe in there if I had to. 10 - Crappy PA intercom. Technology being what it is, they SHOULD be able to have an intercom with enough fidelity that your ears dont bleed during the safety announcements. And on Delta, you get the added bonus of the beeeeeeeep tone that accompanies the screeching, tinny voice. Bose? Anyone?
