So I made a comment on another thread about the first troll-like comment on my blog that was basically - this is stupid. But from my comment it became clear that some people dont like the word tribe as much as I do. It seems mostly because it can be used to exclude others. I had honestly never thought of it like that and I find it interesting and useful to hear how others feel about words (because I believe words are powerful). So Im going to try and bring this around to show how - in my mind at least - this relates to unschooling. First of all - I was never using the word tribe in regards to the unschooling community, or even my community. For me Tribe has a very positive connotation. It seems to me that is where I differ from some - some people have negative feelings towards the word. Which I find interesting - and may also have something to do with the negative comment on my blog. (
