So I managed to pull off a finish at Tsogo Sun Amashova yesterday. Not my best performance! Man that was one tough ride - had to dig really deep (there were a few times that I nearly bailed!). A painful lesson (again) to not attempt long distance races on no training at all (sorry coach)! No water or other liquid refreshment at the Halfway or Bar One water table didnt help either. And then a lot of confusion in my head because I forgot to save/reset my Garmin from the previous ride so only discovered in Pinetown that apparently I had done 122km in 7½ hours! A big thank you to the following peeps: Shaun Fuller & Zahir Malani for there support & motivation along the route, to the whole amazing team at Jowetts Cycles, my special friends Viv Quann & Sharon Cooper, Raymond & Amanda Jane Peddle for picking up the pieces at the end, my biggest supporter & groupie Vicky Peddle. Oh, and my rather long finishing time was 05:18. Till the next sufferfest!....
