So I might have just been played for $75 worth of gas ... Walking out of church after choir, a couple of guys pulled up in a GMC Sierra pickup and asked if I was a pastor. (I said no, but I play one on TV ... 8^) They said they were in town from Mechanicsburg (~60 miles) and had worked at a tire shop in Columbus all day, apparently running a balancing machine for which the owner didnt have a trained operator. At the end of the day, though, the owner kept making excuses rather than paying them. They were low on gas (which I noticed looking in the cab of the truck), had no money, and without help, they were going to have to sleep in their truck. I took them to the nearest gas station and bought them as near to a full tank as my debit card limit would allow. They were very grateful as we said goodbye and they headed out for home. If this was legitimate, I was happy to help -- but if I got scammed, then Im slightly less happy ...
