So, I promised another Wanamakers event for TBT, and, here it is. This actually is not very old. It only took place on 10/30/10. However, if you grew up in the culture of the store, and had a chance to attend its Christmas organ recitals, then you will love this. The atrium at the store is, for the most part, marble in construction, is almost 8 stories high and has fabulous acoustics. It makes for a great music venue. The organ is also the largest working pipe organ in the world. So, when you have over 650 people, from all over the Delaware Valley, participate in a performance this special, well......... Over 8.6 million people have viewed this video in the past four years. Personally, I would have given anything to be there when this took place. The sound and the energy in that space must have been electrifying. So, take 6 minutes of you day, sit down, click on full screen TURN UP YOUR SPEAKERS, and enjoy the Christmas spirit from Wanamakers. And, Merry Christmas!
