So, I really need to vent here. I will try not not offend anyone but inevitably it is sure to happen. Let me preface what I am about to say by telling you I am an animal lover and my wife is a veterinarian. While I am very happy to see a community come together like this one does when it comes to our pets, I am so dismayed by the irresponsibility of our pet owners for the number of pets I see lost or loose on this board. For the life of me I cannot understand how all your pets get loose! It saddens me. Not so much for you...It really is your fault your pet is loose....But for your pet. I do realize there are extenuating circumstances sometimes but the volume of lost pets I see on this board is just...well...horrible. What infuriates me even more is when you post a picture of your lost pet they almost never have a collar on! How do you not have a collar on your dog with their tags on it? Even if they are microchipped (and they better be) that is no excuse for them not have some sort of outward ID. You owe it to your pet just as you do your children (yes, I am comparing your pet to your children) to take every precaution to make sure you pet is properly protected and identified. Please people, be as responsible for your pet as you are your family because after all, you pet is part of your family. If you dont feel that way then you do not deserve to have a pet!!!.....Here endth my rant!
