So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:16-18 NIV) Everyone of us has two natures. We are born with the old nature. We had nothing to do with it. It isnt our fault. When we are saved we get a new nature. It is the Holy Sprit. We become a new creation. Then when we are tempted to do something wrong, We have a choice to make. We can decide to follow our Spirit nature or our old nature. God has promised that if we follow our Spirit man, He will show us an escape route. The Holy Spirit, who cannot sin, will help us overcome the temptation to follow our natural man. We will not obey the desires of the flesh (the natural man).
