So I set off for Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria this morning to deliver a Citroen C3 Picasso. Arrive at the garage at 7.45 am, thinking Ill get me head down for 45 minutes, as most garages dont open until 8.30 at the earliest. A guy approaches who turns out to be the owner of the garage and says he will sign the car off. Result! Whilst completing my paperwork, I ask him what the transport options are to get to my next job in Kendal, about 25 miles away. He informs me theres one bus that goes through the village at 7.30am and returns at 17.30 in the evening! The train journey would entail going to Preston to come out to Kendal again! Bummer! Just then a customer came in for petrol and my man asks him if hes going to Kendal, and would he give me a lift? He agrees, I jump in, and we have a very pleasant half hour journey. When we get to Kendal, he asks if I want dropping off at the station. I tell him Ive got to pick up a car from James Cropper, Specialist Paper Makers. He only works there!!! Back home for 11.30am. Now thats what I call a good day! Oh, and Ive done the lottery for tomorrow! Fingers crossed!!!
