So I thought I had some malware (turns out I dont think I do, but dont go setting your computer clocks back 4 months or else a LOT of websites will suddenly be untrusted...). Anyways, in exploring what was wrong, I opened my command prompt and tried to ping google because I wanted the google IP address to try to navigate to it that way to see if it still came up as untrusted. Four packets were sent, I got a 25% loss rate (the first one always fails). Not only does the first packet fail every time, the ping command now returns an IPv6 address instead of the four octet format Im used to. Bummer. I then tried to ping a not-so-traffic-heavy website, ScoutLook Weather, which is a weather site for hunters and fishermen. On this I receive a 100% packet loss every time, however it works just fine in my browser. Why might this be?
