So, I thought, ya know, my iPhone case is falling apart, its battery life is less, perhaps I should get a new one a six. So I go to back up the phone. I open iTunes , cable is in the phone, ready to hook up. iTunes wants to update. Check internet synch instructions, it says update, yeah, ok, I can do this. Fool, i let it update. I have to sign into iTunes on the PC, it updates, it wants to reboot. Sure, ok, reboot, it does. It is advised that you let Check Disc run. Ok, run Check Disc run. Hum, an error in segment 1 of 3, line 192, or so, I am now thinking this cannot be good. Windows announces that it is commencing repairs. Repairs are accomplished. Check Disc continues on to segment two, same error, attempts repair, repair fails, insufficient memory. Due tell. Time passes. The screen goes dark, time passes, windows loads. Things load. Time passes. Programs load but really dont run. I think, I should shut this down and take this to the computer store tomorrow. Shut down computer. Go to upstairs computer, no iTunes. Look for iTunes on the web. Download and install iTunes. Load and sign into iTunes, I plug in the phone. They get acquainted. Its like polite teenagers, hmmm, do they exist? The PC asks, can I talk to your phone. I say yes. The phone beeps and asks if it can talk to the PC. Again, yes. They are not free to talk. Great, now I can Synch. No. You really have to reboot. Damn. Reboot. Load iTunes. Plug in and they can still talk to each other after the reboot. How nice. iTunes shows the phone on its bar just like the web site said it would. I select the phones icon, click. iTunes asks, what would you like to do. I find the back up manually now button and think, I might actually get the phone to back up on the PC. I push the button, click. It appears to be working. And if you have a 16 gig phone with a lot of stuff on it that you have not synced onto the computer, well it appears to take a while, but file numbers are increment ing so it must be doing something. I need a beer. I like beer, I hate computers.
