So I wake up this morning and Phil Weiss, a man with no love for Israel puts this out for discussion from the New York Times from an Iranian and Israeli scholar and is chilling in its conceptualization and its implications as published and as any kind of legitimate opinion.... I believe it is a complete misrepresentation of what is going on in both Israel and in Iran, but I do believe it has futurist implications for Israel if the country moves further and further to the right. Israel was always a theocracy within a progressive secular democratic framework. It was that progressiveness that kept the state politically balanced. However the continual threat of war from her neighbors have moved the state further to the right and there is no question this is presenting difficulties. Is Israel becoming like Iran and visa versa, I dont think so, but this article challenges that with scary implications for Israel....Finally, I dont know much about Iran, but as an existential threat to Israel at the current time, I am having a difficult time accepting the assessment of these scholars. nytimes/2014/04/12/opinion/sunday/are-iran-and-israel-trading-places.html?_r=2
