So I walk two miles and Nadine Gelineau cycles two miles to meet each other for breakfast only to find were staying with friends 50 yards apart. It was the start of a mixed up kind of day that was more about battling crowds and queuing than seeing bands, so I missed Tinariwen and I missed Sean Lennon. I missed Melissa Etheridge, The Fleshtones and the Lou Reed Tribute but I did see the superb Rachel Ann Weiss, daughter of Kathleen Turner and the next Carole King. I did see Canadas excellent Wilderness of Manitoba. I did see Amsterdams ethereal Sofie Winterson. I also saw the anthemic Fallen Riviera (thanks to the singer, Will Parrys uncle, Chris Hook). I met up with Brightons gorgeous Wildflowers and hope to see them play tonight and at last managed to see Bewdley and Bogotas own Will Holland, aka Quantic ... wonderful stuff. AND I ended up at Nadines friends house 50 yards away from Rons, the home of Gordon Moakes of Bloc Party and his gorgeous wife, and demonstrated my pigeon Welsh with Super Furry Animal and film maker, Gruff Rhys and his co-director, Dylan and producer, Cat and numerous other music and film luminaries until 4.30 this morning. Is it any wonder I have a migraine?
