So I want to take this time to commend all the actors,writers and directors of the movie Selma for a job well done! My best friend and I went to see it last night and it was truly amazing! The casting director deserves a Oscar just for the casting alone! Especially the role of Coretta Scott King played by Carmen Ejogo, I literally felt like I was looking at Mrs King on that screen last night, it was amazing to see all the actors play the roles of People I have studied and admired for years such as Martin Luther King Jr, Andy Young, Hosea Williams, John Lewis, Jessie Jackson and so many others who truly impacted the civil rights movement! The movie in my opinion gives a personal glimpse into the lives of these people who fought so very hard for our justice and equality! I must admit there were some extremely hard parts of the film for me to sit and watch, but the reality of the matter is that these things in our history are there for us to be reminded of not only where we come from and the progress we have made, but where we are going! The movie also reminded me as we still have a long way to go as a nation we should still be reminded that the lives of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Kendrick Daniels, and so many others that have lost their lives in this struggle, will one day not be in vein as tough as loosing these young men and so many others over senseless acts may be!remember these words of Dr King Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. We shall overcome!!! please take the time and see the movie Selma ❤️ Victor
