So I was a judge at this battle of the bands this evening that was organized by a local merchant Im networked with. Its aimed at high school bands, and there was some pretty talented individuals, but one band freaking blew everyone away! They were well put together, they didnt just play wonderfully, they engaged with the audience, they had fun on stage and even got up to me and other audience members and just rocked out with them. I havent been in front of a live act (especially locally) that enthusiastic and fun to be around in well over a decade. For those of you that are students or young in your engineering career, never underestimate the power of connections. cynicism and negative attitudes will get you solitude and isolation, which will only eventually build you a brick wall in your career. Tonight I learned a personal growth lesson, just by being humbled by an experience some FRESHMANS were able to perform and rock everyones socks off!
