So I was a little overwhelmed by everyones response to my post about struggling to keep healthy during winter.. and I was inspired to write a little blog post about staying fit and healthy during winter ... Let me paint a picture... Its summer time... you wake up in the morning, you jump out of bed, possibly naked because it was so hot when you went to sleep and put on your bikini/shorts and singlet, and head outside for some exercise. You come home and you really feel like having a super food smoothie - delicious. Throughout the day you swig on your bottle of water because its so refreshing in this heat! At lunch time you reach for a nice fresh crunchy salad... just what your body is asking for... and so the day goes on. Next picture... Its winter. You wake up nice and early, but its just soooo chilly out there you snuggle under your blankets for juuuust a little bit longer. You finally get up and yikes, better rush to get ready for the day. Breakfast... just grab some toast cos its quick and warm! You make it to work and dont really notice your thirst so dont bother drinking water. Its lunch time, you really feel like something warm and satisfying - hmmm, maybe something with extra cheeeeese?? In the evening you want to go and exercise, but to tell you the truth you just cant bear the thought of taking your clothes off to change outfits, so settle in for an evening indoors.
