So, I was nominated for the ALS (Lou Gherigs Disease) Ice Bucket - TopicsExpress

So, I was nominated for the ALS (Lou Gherigs Disease) Ice Bucket Challenge by Florence Kwok. However, I do not believe that you should make a donation on the basis that some one tells you to do so, it needs to be done with conviction. You could donate all of the money that you own to the poor, but if the act doesnt come from the heart than it is meaningless. I am not saying that I am against donating money to a good cause, I just think that how much and who you give to needs to be personal. Trying to find a cure for Lou Gherigs disease is surely a noble cause, and raising awareness for it is a nice thing to do too, so Im not going to challenge you to donate $100 or dump cold water on your head, instead Im doing something a little different. I am suggesting the start of the Something Meaningful campaign. Life is short for all of us, no one knows when they will pass away. It could be from developing a disease such as ALS or lung cancer, or an equally fatal disease. Or it could be from something as simple as being hit by a bus, a freak accident at work. We have no guarantee that when we tell someone goodbye that it wont be the last time. My challenge is this: You have 48 hours to record yourself, whether with photo or video, doing something meaningful for/with family or friends. Dont just sit in silence together, watching the television or reading books, get out and do something that makes memories. Share them on facebook, instagram, or whatever it is that you use, and challenge your friends to do the same. The video below contains a similar response and as an added bonus, I even have water dumped on my head. Enjoy, then go do something meaningful. P.S. I am tagging pretty much everybody I know (more in the comments) #ALSIceBucketChallenge #DoSomethingMeaningful
