So I was outside enjoying the weather when all of the sudden I saw a young boy stumbling around. He eventually fell in my driveway so I ran to check on him. This young man could barely talk. He finally told me his name was David and he had been smoking pot. He began to lose consciousness. My neighbor called 911. I held this boy and tried to tell him I was afraid if he passed out he would die. When the police got here he was being uncooperative. I sat back down with him. He laid his head on my shoulder while police and EMS tried to get him to tell them what he was taking. The police officer pulled a bottle of pills out of his hoodie. I said David how many of those did you take? He said just one. They asked him if he smoked anything else he said no. EMS said come on man we are here to help you. I asked him to tell me and he whispered what EMS thought was K2. They took him away in an ambulance. Im so sad for this boy. I wish I could have gone with him until his parents got there but I couldnt. After they were gone my neighbor asked me if I knew him. Nope. But he is someones child. He is a human being. He is 16. Obviously headed in the wrong direction. But who knows if all he needed was for someone to hug him and tell him he is better than that. I would hope if someday one oft children find themselves in that same situAtion someone would be there for them if I cant be.
