So, I was standing at the bus stop and this gentleman was walking - TopicsExpress

So, I was standing at the bus stop and this gentleman was walking up and Im thinking to myself, just say hello, please dont try to spark up a conversation with me. He didnt look creepy, I just didnt want to talk right then. Maybe I was the one being creepy, lol. So, he says hello and I say hello. He then says, you must be from the south, and I reply, no. He says, well someone is from the south. I say my mother. We then talk about the south and somewhere in the conversation we segue into music. As we talk about music I tell him that I sing for me now and he tells me not to give up my dream. When he told me not to give up, I thought about something I saw last night that was posted by the Whitney Houston Fan Club. I followed her for over 20 years and never heard this quote. I guess you get things exactly when you need them. She said, You dont sing to show us how well you can sing, you should sing in service of the song. That speaks volumes to me right now and I am so glad that yesterday was the first time I read that. That is why I sing now. I sing to provide a service to the song and to whomever is listening. If my higher power wants me to share my voice on a bigger platform, that will happen, if not, that is okay. I can sing to a club of 50 just as well as I can sing to a crowd of a hundred thousand. The point is that I can sing and I am grateful to have been trusted with such a beautiful gift. #Grateful for the awakening. #Lifeisgood #Perception #Change Blessings, db
