So I was supposed to be at the national conservation training center for the next three weeks attending refuge management academy. Now, with the oil spill in the gulf, much of our US Fish and Wildlife Service staff in Texas are working hard to save wildlife. That means, I get to stay home and help write a couple of big grants for the region. Im sad to be missing out on the great learning experience and camaraderie of the academy, but Im totally psyched that I have the opportunity to help not only my current refuge Valle de Oro, but I get to take care of my old refuges Santa Ana and Lower Rio Grande Valley too!
