So I was thinking yesterday about Larry Ellison. Hes so rich, at this point, he doesnt need to earn another penny in his life. And Im sure if you asked him why he continues to serve as CEO of Oracle, for the money would *not* be among his answers. Why then, does the board continue to reward him with an 8-figure annual compensation package? He doesnt need it, it doesnt motivate him, what purpose does it serve? Shouldnt that money be invested back into the company or paid out to shareholders? And cant this same point probably be made about a lot of uber-rich corporate executives? By contrast, the multibillionaire Oracle of Omaha draws a negligible salary. Why is he the only one?
