So I was trying to make soup today and I could not find the bay leafs…. Then I though something, why do we put them in every soup we make??? May answer is simple, gram said so… So I ripped the entire cupboard about to try to find them….. But then I thought about that, maybe we just do it because “Gram” said so… Does it really add anything, or is the soup really bad if we miss it? NO. We do these things because Gram said so, and that is enough. That is how it should be. I am not a complicated man. Yes I am educated and have been a lot of places, but the simple things hold true. What Gram McNamara (many of you know her as Delores) and Pap Thompson (you know him as Harry) taught my parents and me hold true. Simple things in life. • Love… Love those that Love you even when they don’t show it back • Respect… respect everybody, even those you don’t. You will either figure out they are Ok or you still don’t respect hem, but it is no skin off you. • Honor.. Honor is a difficult one, either you do it or you don’t. I am not just saying Ephesians 6:2. But somebody along the way did it for you, give it back… • Say you are sorry, and mean it. And really mean it, If you screwed up, we all did it, just don’t be fake about saying you are sorry….. (helps if you can prove it) • Do these things and you will be take care of… maybe not by me or the guy next to me, but maybe by HIM or somebody. The only other thing I can say, I am very proud to have such a great group of family and friend that when s*&t hit the fan I know it will be ok…. I have been posting too many crazy things on Facebook, but those that read this and understand, I should not even have to post this to. BTW the bay leafs were the first container I took out of the cupboard… (didn’t see them) (AND THAT IS THE TRUTH THAT IS WHY I AM POSTING MY THOUGHTS) And no, I am not using this recipe, I made my own up, I will let you know how it goes. allrecipes/recipe/very-easy-mushroom-barley-soup/
