So I went out into the big bad world...on a train...through many - TopicsExpress

So I went out into the big bad world...on a train...through many stations...and though once at my final destination I thoroughly enjoyed myself..and had the best time with Lisa and her kids...I can honestly say I seriously did not like the journey at all...we really need to invent travel which doesnt include all the things that goes along with modern day travel...busy noisy crowded places which are built like a maze and you schedule doesnt allow for you to even have one breath of relief before you have to hurry as fast as you can( with luggage) to your next connection, which will be located as far away from you drop off point as it can be.Dont even consider having a drink if its a long journey, because your choice of toilets along the way ( If you even have time to seek one out) is going to make you wish you really hadnt had that coffee or tea.One on your train feel very fortunate IF you find a seat , as many will have a ticket on the headrest stating RESERVED, which means even if empty ..your not allowed to used it.For those afraid of heights such as myself I recommend checking ahead of time just how many bridges you will be on , as every single one I crossed was so high up you simply felt sick knowing you have no choice but to be on it.....and Id say I was basically as high up as all them roller coasters I refuse to ride. For the most part the people on the train all kept to themself...nobody dare interact with one another...maybe were a dangerous person, or maybe we got cooties, I have no clue, but for all the trains I was on only 4 people on the train ever took up my invitation to converse. At the stations when asked folks would reply to important questions like, Is this the platform for the train to York?....but other than one couple on my very last platform, no real conversation. So if you think you will be able to distract yourself from your fears or insecurities on the journey through conversation, its not a given at all...for the most part you will be in your own head, trying to keep everything you need to do straight....trying not to think about the 100ft or so drop out your window. Once on the ground and outside your station, there is a whole new world of things to watch for , like scary men who live in hedges by railway platforms....especially when you discover its a single platform in the middle of nowhere and your the only one at the stop. NO IM SORRY I HATED the actual journey...BUT I LOVED meeting LISA and her kids, and I loved what time I did get to spend with them. I also loved going tot he show and meeting others I have met on my fish groups from here on FB. Yes Im very glad I made the journey, as it was very much worth it to me....but oh how good it feels to be home.
