So I woke up this noon and found that most of the power was out in my house. (Some circuits work - lights in the bedrooms but not sockets, plugs in the living room, not lights or sockets anywhere else.) However, I have two circuit-breaker boxes (dont know why) and none were flipped. I futzed around with them and managed to turn off and restore the power where it was already working, but no change otherwise. Baffled. Is it at all possible that this is the power companys problem, or do I need an electrician, or what? I just bottomed out in my millimeter understanding of home electricity. Also, Im posting this from work (since of course the router at home doesnt work without power, and the phone hadnt charged overnight, and because I have to check on a server here thats having hardware problems; my boss would usually do that but hes in Germany.) Helpful suggestions or psychic diagnoses on the electrical problem welcome.
