So Im a bit distressed that Ive had very little to have a whinge - TopicsExpress

So Im a bit distressed that Ive had very little to have a whinge about lately (back to work now so that should fix that!) - so I thought Id share my little rant I recorded after our recent family holiday...lucky you! So from 21-24 December we stayed at the ******** holiday park. The place is just a lovely location on the river and the pool and water play park are great. However, from the 21st to 23rd there was constant mowing, whipper snipping and edge trimming noise - it was maddening on what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday. Everywhere in the cabin there were please conserve water signs - but the toilet was set up with a sink in the top of the cistern with a tap that starts and stops automatically, this tap ran flat out for about 5 minutes after hand washing was done with - the only people I know who wash their hands for that long have mild mental issues or ocd! The water in the shower gave a wide selection of temperatures which consisted of boiling hot, or freezing cold, with nothing in between and the tap position seemed to have no bearing on what temperature you were getting - I spent about 10 minutes in there for about 2.5 minutes actually under the water. I also could not properly shower my child as there was no way I was risking burning him when the water temperature decided to do its own thing. It was a massive water wasting cabin. The bunk room in our cabin was so hot my son could not sleep in there and there seemed no way to get any airflow through it - I have slept on the couch for three nights so my son can sleep with his father in the main room. On our 2-3 trips to the beach I removed about 6 large pieces of glass and 4 can lids from the area - not to mention the huge amount of fish guts and carcasses, hooks and line and rotten prawns lying around - how people were letting their kids run around there with no shoes was beyond me - I was expecting to find a syringe next! Also. Nothing to do with the park itself, but I saw parents completely ignoring their small children left right and centre, particularly around the pool where one family almost lost both of their small children to drowning in the space of about a minute (Monday afternoon) - the second one when the father wholloped his three year old across the head so hard he knocked him off his feet and unconscious, in the water. The father didnt even notice the child was not getting up until I started for him, then he ripped him up by his arm and I was glared at by the father and felt so uncomfortable around this obviously very violent man that I left the pool immediately with my family and I would not go back to it for the rest of our holiday. Needless to say, we wont be back there! Back to Broulee next time - stick with whats good ;-)
