So Im a conservative and a 7 year employee at Costco, and I really REALLY want to vent about peoples response to Costco pulling a book called America. Im not on the in on how all of Costcos decisions are made, but theyre a business and its about sales and making money. Costco sells a lot of books that are on the New York Times Best Seller list. As far as I know they pulled this book before it ever became a Best Seller. The Costco location I work at sold 9 copies in 30 days. Our location does nearly a half a million in sales every day... Costcos excuse for pulling the America book off the shelves... poor sales. The money made off the book in the first month is pocket change. Costcos sales in a month averaged just 8 copies per warehouse (talk about stellar numbers). But now that Costcos are supposedly bringing the book back, due to peoples outrage at how they have been doing business for 40 years. Now the sales will go up and the author should say Thanks Costco for the hype this brought my book. Cause Communist Costco now must sell every product ever sold, cause they might piss somebody off with there political agenda. Lets disregard the fact that in every department on a weekly basis Costco pulls items that they arent going to be carrying anymore. PS if Costco was so concerned about people getting there hands on America why did they sell it in the first place. *this post is not authorized or endorsed by Costco
