So Im curious what really got you into photography and what was the first shot you took that you were really proud of? Ill start. Well I actually started out on Canon but now Im a Nikon user. I had never really owned an SRL and always used point and shoot but one day I bought a Canon A30 I think about 2001, it was 3mps and cost about the equivalent of $600. I remember just loving being able to take and delete shots. It was what got me hooked because I could take unlimited shots and keep taking until I found I improved. One day I decided I wanted a DSLR. I looked a Canon 300d I think but it was a little out of my price range and so I bought a Nikon d50 in about 2005 I think. I loved it but didnt use it as much as I should. Eventually in 2009 I upgraded to a d70s which I still use today but hopefully upgrading this year. When I started my friend said dont upgrade your camera until you have full exhausted your existing one which I feel I have. Anyway not long after buying my d70s I experimented with a wide angle and bought a sigma 10-20mm lens. The attached shot is one of the first shots I was proud of taken not long after the purchase of my 10-20mm lens. Since then ive focussed mainly on portrait photography but Im about ready to try something else.
