So, Im going to step up on my Soap Box. Close your eyes or put your ear plugs in. And if I offend you, Unfriend me. I went to see King George last night. It was an amazing show. But the one thing that kind of ruined it for me was when the MilitaryWarriors.org guy took the stage. I was an Army Wife for 14 years. My Dad served in the Navy, my Brother the Marines, my Son the Air Force National Guard and my Nephew just recently got out of the Army after several tours in Afghanistan. Plus some of my best friends have served and gone to war. So that pride runs deep. But I kind of felt with this organization the way I feel about Under Cover Boss. Why so elaborate? If I heard correctly, they gave the Wounded Warrior a home worth... (Drum Roll Please)... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!! Im going to say that again... ONE MILLION DOLLARS. I mean, wouldnt it make more sense to give more of our wounded soldiers a home valuing, say, $250,000. I mean, these guys have lived in military housing. I promise you it isnt even a $100,000 home they are use to. And you all know I love me some George Strait! But I hate that this organization used his concert to toot their horn in front of 104,000 fans. I mean really, I would have been more impressed had they brought 10 of these Soldiers up and given each of them $100,000 or $200,000 homes. But the million dollar home just hit me wrong. I would have been even more impressed had they told us they were going to provide jobs for our Wounded Warriors. Because the sad truth of the matter is that after they learn their skill, after they go to Afghanistan and do their job, after they come home with PTSD so severe they cant sleep at night. PTSD so bad that sparkle in their eyes is gone... we the people turn out backs on them. I love our men in uniform and all they do for us. But I am ashamed to belong to a society that treats them with such disrespect. Stepping off my Soap Box now. Thanks for your time. And think about those soldiers who need our support.
