So Im not sure if I can post this or not, but Ill give it a shot. Warning though, its gonna be a rant! :P Anyway, like many of you, I have been looking for the infamous NM #98 issue (you know, Deadpools first appearance). Its not a grail of mine as you would say, but Ive been looking for it to add with my NM #87 (since Cable and Deadpool go hand in hand). However, Ive given up my search for this issue. Its not that Im a quitter, but its because of the price that people are asking for it. Dont get me wrong, I would consider paying $150-$200 for it (because thats a fair price for an ungraded issue IMO), but it absolutely sickens me when I see people asking $250+ for an ungraded copy. I was hoping that after the craze went a away for a bit that the prices would go down, but it seems like theyre increasing. Between all my comic shops, eBay, Amazon, and some of the comic groups Im involved in, it looks like everyone is trying to take advantage of this popular issue to fill their pockets. I feel bad for the people who have paid $300+ for a non-graded issue because I think you were cheated and bought a book that was over-priced, but if it was for an official graded copy, kudos for an awesome deal! I refuse to pay more than the book is worth. The most Ive seen for a non-graded issue is $600. Seriously?! Call me crazy, but I dont believe a non-graded book is ever worth that much (unless Stan Lee signed it in gold and handed to me personally). If push comes to shove Id be willing to go $250 for a non-graded but Im considering that a last resort. If need be Ill wait a couple years. I really feel as if peoples greed have gone too far with this issue. So with that being said, anyone have any recommendations as to what I can do in order to get the issue at some point without being ripped off? Sorry if its long, but this is how I feel about this situation. Thanks for reading!
