So Im sat here this Sunday morning & the strangest thought - TopicsExpress

So Im sat here this Sunday morning & the strangest thought occurred to me. Turns out that too many, quotes encourage us to trust no one, until they, earn it. Ive always thought that that line of thinking is fundamentally flawed. I think we were made to start from a position of trust because I find that whenever I set out to let someone win my trust, it becomes impossible for the person to ever win it because there is always something that will make me doubt. I find sometimes that even being too nice might arouse suspicion at such times. The reason is quite simple & weve probably heard it before: NOBODY IS PERFECT. Of course, these quotes have us believing that the world is divide into, us & people. I dont think the world has such a division. I think the world is made of people, each one with flaws as unique as their fingerprints. One mans tendency to lie, in every way equal to another mans tendency to be insensitive or to steal or to hurt another person in general. Even the people that seem to have, earned our trust might have done so on very superficial criteria. Put simply, this is what I think; that trust is the absolute belief that someone is going to do the right thing. It stems from the desire to believe in the best part of another person. I happen to believe that this best part is present in everyone so I tend to look for it. Im not saying that there arent people who have lost my trust... Im just saying they didnt have to earn it first
