So Im walking to where my car is parked in Palo Alto & a guy is near it speaking to a police officer. Apparently, this guy thinks having my car parked out on the street is an act of disturbing the peace. One needs a permit to park in Palo Alto but between the hours of 2-5am & it was noon so I wasnt making a transgression of any sort. I wasnt even parked on the curb near this guys house so I dont see why he would go out of his way to accuse me of a non existent violation. I didnt want to make assumptions about this guy being a racist, but the fact that he said that brown boy over there is the owner (hes seen me around), not knowing I could hear him, only revealed what was hidden beneath the surface. That just prompts me to say that I would really appreciate not being viewed as a threat just by appearance especially since I was wearing slacks & going to work & if some people really feel innocuously parking my car for a few hours without violating any law or rule on their street is harmful & disturbing the peace then those individuals really need to reevaluate what those terms really mean. So silly.
