So Im working on my book, and while doing research on a song by David Allen Coe, I came upon this song: youtube/watch?v=vAOVRkSCWmg. In 1982, I had the opportunity to go to Scotland where my Dad was stationed on his last duty station in the U.S. Navy. There was a little hole-in-the-wall pub, at the end of the street, in a little town called Dunoon, overlooking the Firth of Clyde, where I would gather with my best gal pal, Jodie Jody Wilkie, and our friends and SOs to shoot pool, drink, dance and have a good time. I became such a fixture there, that when I arrived, the DJ would play this song for me. I was much, much more looser in those days, so the you never even call me by my name part was very applicable.
