So, Ive been on Facebook a little over a year now. In that time, Ive seen pretty much everything. For the sake of this post, though, lets focus on politics for a second, shall we? Ive got Republican friends, Ive got Democrat friends, Ive got Independent friends, and lets face it, Ive got friends that just dont give a shit. All of that being said, today was a great day for me on Facebook. I dont care which candidate you voted for. Thats none of my business. I was very encouraged, though, by the number of people that posted that they had voted. This is one of the greatest thing an American can do. In a certain way, it validates the profession that Ive chosen. Ive filled out absentee ballots twice in my life, each time while deployed to the Middle East. Nothing beats casting your vote in person, though. Its not whether your chosen candidate won or lost today. Its about whats best for America. The important thing is you voted. And, for that, I say, thank you. Im not sure what it means to anyone else, but it means a lot to me? So, moving forward, I hope the country can get past the divide that weve been experiencing for quite some time now and hope that whichever candidates wind up as winners can work together and improve our Nation. So, again, thank you to those of you that voted.
