So, Ive been sitting around the last few hours thinking about music. Not just any music. No. I was thinking about tunes from the late 60s through the late 80s. Why? Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Tape vol. 2 thats why! When you are sick and are too loopy to sleep you do weird things... Keeping Movies, TV Shows and the fact this Awesome Mix Tape was from a mother to her son in mind, I have narrowed the thousands of songs to just 29. First group is what I feel should be in the movie. 1 Smiling Faces Sometimes (Undisputed Truth) 2 Kung Fu Fighting (Carl Douglas) 3 Barracuda (Heart) 4 Staying Alive (Bee Gees) 5 Eye of the Tiger (Survivor) 6 Maneater (Hall & Oats) This next grouping are great songs and should be in the movie if possible. There are a few in here that would hold relevance to a young man of that time from movies and TV shows (Dukes of Hazard, Greatest American Hero, Footloose, Risky Business.) 7 American Woman (Guess Who) 8 Everybody Plays the Fool (Main Ingredient) 9 Jungle Boogie (Kool in the Gang) 10 The Hustle (Van McCoy) 11 Why Can’t We Be Friends (War) 12 Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John) 13 Devil Woman (Cliff Richard) 14 We Will Rock You (Queen) 15 Believe it or Not (Joey Scarbury) 16 Another One Bites the Dust (Queen) 17 Footloose (Kenny Loggins) 18 Can’t Fight This Feeling (REO Speed Wagon) 19 We Built This City (Starship) 20 Ain’t No Sunshine (Bill Withers) 21 Rocket Man (Elton John) 22 Play That Funky Music White Boy (Wild Cherry) 23 Every Breath You Take (Police) 24 Roxanne (Police) 25 Good Ol Boys (Waylon Jennings) 26 Against All Odds (Phil Collins) Lastly are good songs and could be in the movie... but.... 27 I’ll Take You There (Staple Slingers) 28 Cat’s In The Cradle (Harry Chapin) 29 Take My Breath Away (Berlin) In review, I love the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Its GREAT fun for all ages. Great soundtrack! I loved all the songs, save one (not saying which one) and the music really added something to the movie. If you havent watched Guardians of the Galaxy yet, I am only assuming you were kidnapped by aliens or were laying with a Aaskvarii woman instead of at the movies (watch the movie and youll get the references!!!). BTW, I am Groot, that is all.
