So, Ive been “un-friended” recently by several people Ive know for decades because of occasional posts of a political nature. Ive had other “friends” threaten to unfriend anyone who posts religious content here. Its bewildering and sad. The old saying is that you should discuss neither politics nor religion in polite company. Obviously, I dont agree - theyre the only 2 subjects that are actually worth discussing; Politics – what are we going to do about this life? Religion – what are we going to do about the next life? Opinions contrary to mine do not threaten me. Im passionate about my beliefs, but I would never end our friendship because we disagree. Just so everyone is clear: I am a Conservative. My views are pretty much the exact opposite of everything our current President believes. I am also, and more importantly, a follower of Christ. Im commanded to tell you the truth in love so that you might become one too. If youre offended, thats unfortunate. This electronic relationship weve shared has been great, but if you cant or wont remain friends with those who have a different set of beliefs – I wish you well.
