So Ive kinda sorta been going through an identity crisis of sorts for the past month and not in a way you would expect me to. Ive had trouble being comfortable in my own, beautifully golden, skin. And yes, thats the last thing you would think I would have an issue with cause its me. It could be a whole bunch of contributing factors, but I think its when I see situations like the one below that it really riles me up. As much as we paint ourselves to be multi-cultural and tolerant of different races, ethnicities and cultures, we all walk around with certain predispositions that are ingrained in our minds. Mine was that skinny blonde girls get everything in life. Not actually the case but you cant help it if thats how media sets it out to be. So all Im asking for after this long rant is to turn to someone you dont know, someone with a different cultural fabric from your own or someone you wouldnt normally talk to, and tell them theyre beautiful. Cause sometimes thats all it takes.
